The Art of Exfoliation

Why Exfoliate

Skin naturally sheds billions of skin cells each day. When this natural shedding slows or stops your skin becomes dull or lackluster;  you may notice more clogged pores, blemishes or an uneven skin tone. You can gently remove the built-up skin cells, unclog pores, stop breakouts,  sun discoloration and smooth out wrinkles or scaring all by exfoliating once a week.

Types of Exfoliation

Enzyme Exfoliators- Enzyme exfoliators dissolve the top layers of dead skin and leave you with a fresh complexion. It is a much milder solution as compared to scrubs and acid peels. Enzymes help to dissolve excessive cell build up and assist in removing other impurities which clog pores. Our Gentle Enzyme Peeling Crème is a great enzyme exfoliator and is great from people with acne or sensitive skin that are scared to used scrubs.

Large vs Small Granules- The granules found in exfoliant scrubs vary in size. Many granules have a rough, coarse, uneven texture that can cause skin damage by tearing into the skin as it abrades away the surface, causing tiny tears that damage the skin’s barrier. So make sure you select a scrub that has smooth round granules for women’s thinner skin face. Larger granules can be used on the tougher thicker skin of the body.

Clarisonic- Evie Evan Exfoliant Crème can be safely with the Clarisonic. The rotating motion of the brush and the small volcanic microcrystals take exfoliation to a new level. Just be sure not to overdo it. Make sure to move brush over face evenly, not concentrating on one area for too long.

Benefits of our Exfoliant Crème- The Evie Evan Exfoliant Crème has volcanic microcrystals, which are small and smooth enough to remove those top layers of skin without causing tearing. Polish away surface imperfections, minimize scars, remove sun damage, softer lines & wrinkles all with this amazing product.

How often to exfoliate-Exfoliating your skin is great, but how often to use one that works best for your skin type takes experimenting. It is possible to overdo it, and your skin will tell you if you’ve gone too far (cracking, bleeding, turning red). Some people require a twice a week exfoliation, for others once a week is plenty.
